Partnering with God in Worship–A True Heart Connect

In this teaching on “Partnering with God in Worship”, we have covered the lifestyle of worship and the abandonment to worship our God and King in spirit and truth. The last segment, “Deep calls to Deep”, we discussed worshiping Him in spirit. Today we look at what it means to worship God in truth. Let’s take a look at John 4:21-24 again.

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (NIV)

What is worshiping in truth? It is connecting with God, purely, in truth. No pretense, no falsehood, nothing in the way. It is who we are purely and sincerely connecting with who He is.

In Exodus 20:25-26 the Lord spoke to Moses and told him, “Make an altar of earth for me…”(vs 24), and in verse 25 God says, “If you make an altar of stones for Me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it.” We do not approach Him through our man-made efforts or ideology. If we do, we defile the purity of our worship to God.

For too long the airways have been cluttered, not only by the influence of the enemy (satan), but also with counterfeits of true worship; “worship” through mental ascent of who God is, “worship” through performance, “worship” through man-made agendas and restraints, and “worship” through traditional standards (imposed by man).

We know when we have entered into true, unadulterated worship when our hearts are crying out for Him with everything that is in us. Nothing dare stand in the way; past failures, present circumstances, preconceived ideas, or fear of what man thinks. Nothing else matters but loving Him, honoring Him, being close to Him, feeling His touch, and hearing His voice. What a love!! Our life will be a beautiful reflection of Him!

Next week we will dig deeper into the unadulterated heart cry of worship.

“Beautiful King Jesus, our hearts cry out for You! How we long for you, and nothing less with do. We praise You, we adore You, and we glorify Your Name in all the earth. We love You with everything that is in us! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and ALL that is within me–bless Your Holy Name!”
